Little Free Library
What is it: The Little Free Library is part of a global initiative to build community, inspire readers and expand book access. There are over 175,000 libraries in 121 countries with over 400 million books shared. You can find out more information at www.littlefreelibrary.org Our community is on the world map under Charter #33146.
Arbour Lake’s First Little Library: The library was made possible after one of our Arbour Lake families approached the Community Association with the idea and agreed to have it placed on their front lawn. Another very talented carpenter in Arbour Lake volunteered to build it and the Community Association funded it through the support of our members. It is a one-of-a-kind design that looks like a very big birdhouse and is always brimming with books.
Location: The corner of Arbour Crest Drive and Arbour Crest Heights. It’s a great place to stop during an evening stroll. You can take a book or leave a book or do both. It has a variety of gently used books for many ages and interests. You never know what you might find!
